Srimangal, the center point of tea of Bangladesh, is one of the most picturesque and enjoyable parts of the country.  For miles around, tea garden form perpetually green carpeting on the gentle sloping hills. For people who love adventures and challenges, this tour offers different activities like walking through the trails inside beautiful tea gardens, stiff trekking through the hills and streams in Rajkandi Reserve Forest to discover Hamham Waterfalls, and a worthwhile nature trekking through Lawachara National park. Day-01: Tea Plantations, Pineapple & Lemon orchard.

Pick up from the hotel at 06.30 am, transfer to Airport Railway Station and depart for Srimangal at 7 am on 709 Parabat Express. After 4 hours train journey you will reach at Srimangal around 11 am, transfer to the resort and after check-in its lunchtime (on the way of our journey we will confirm our arrival there and fix the menu for the lunch). In the afternoon, you will see tea deposit activities on a tea garden before sunset when female workers gather to deposit their tea leaves which they collected during the whole day, which is photogenic and walking through the tracks inside picturesque tea gardens, visit some pineapple lemon orchards on the gentle slope of the hills are some common activities at Srimangal at first day. Visit a colony of tea workers if time permits. After dinner, we’ll be taken to Nilkontho Tea cabin to taste the famous 7 layer tea of Srimangal. Overnight at Srimangal (Nisorgo Eco Resort). 

 

Day-02: Laborious Hiking at Rajkandi Reserve Forest to Hamham Waterfalls

The journey will start at 7.30 am and drive toward Rajkandi Reserve Forest on a four by four (4x4) car through the tea plantations. In an hour and half, you will arrive at Kalabanpara village on the verge of the forest, and start backbreaking trekking through the Rajkandi Reserve Forest to discover Hamham Waterfalls. You need to trek 2-3 hours through the up and down hills to arrive up to the waterfalls. Upon arrival, we will have one hour break to enjoy the waterfall and have lunch, and start our return journey on a different route through the streams. Depending on the rainfall You will hike another 3 hours through knee-deep water stream and dry fields to Kalabanpara, and drive back to Srimangal in the evening in the case of excessive rainfall you follow the same route to come back up to the car.  Overnight at Srimangal (Nisorgo Eco Resort)

 

Day-03: Lawachara National Park and Return to home

Early in the morning, you will go for a rewarding wildlife trekking through the Lawachara National Park. And that has to be done before the other Bangladeshi tourist arrival at Lawachara National Park because of excessive of movement of the people disturb the normal flow of wildlife.  We’ll take the 03 hours trail for the maximum opportunity to see wildlife, specially the Hollock Gibbons for which this forest is famous for. Transfer to railway station, and depart for Dhaka at 5 pm on 710 Parabat Express (Tue Off). Arrive Dhaka around 09.30 pm, transfer to hotel. End of the tour.

Good to know

Tour is not available to start on Tuesday, as Tuesday is the off day for Parabat Express, and Thursday is off day for Jayantika Express (return train).

1st class train tickets depends on availability. We’ll try our best to get first class tickets for you. But if that is not possible, you’ll have a reserved seat on 2nd class.

Your drop from train station to your home is confirmed regardless how long the train is late. 

Pick-up and drop-off for this tour will be available from any part of Dhaka.

Wearing shorts for both men and women will not be any problem in Srimangal but we appriciate your respect toward our bangladeshi culture. 

Only brick cottages of the Eco Resort have the air-conditioning facilities. If you an specific requirement of air-conditioning and want to stay on the brick cottages, let us know during booking. Bamboo cottages do not have air-conditioning, but this will give an authentic bangladeshi home stay experience.

Best time to travel:

April – November: Due to the impact of the tropical weather and regular rainfall, Srimangal, which is very picturesque. Best time of the year to travel.

November – March: Weather is cool and comfortable, and less humid.
