He or she surely will reply “well, it’s a pointless question as there is not the potential of Chittagong region” Why is that?  This region has got a huge river connectivity ; great place for all types of industries; it has tourism facilities, both utilized and otherwise; producing huge power and energy; and any other region in  Bangladesh possibly not matches with Chittagong in terms of diversity, culture, language, heritage and natural beauty of hills, river, lake, waterfalls, and surrounding landscapes. Rangamait and Bandarban are the home of big number of indigenous tribes which converted this Chittagong hill track region the greatest tourist attraction.

On this tour Chittagong and its Tribal people, we take you to experience some of the tourist attractions of the Chittagong region. The unique experience of Chittagong start with a pleasing cruising at Kaptai lake, you’ll visit the best Buddhist temples, visit tribal villages and bazaars and see how their lifestyle differs from the mainstream life of Bangladesh. Then experience the panoramic beauty of Sangu river in the evening on a boat trip and visit the ship-breaking yards which hot both national and international attention for many reasons and heading back to Dhaka.

Day-1: Welcome to Hill tracks, Dhaka - Chittagong by air and Transferred to Rangamati

After having the breakfast early in the morning (depending on the flight schedule we may advise the hotel to prepare the takeaway breakfast) then transfer to the airport to take the flight to go to Chittagong 7.15 am.  By 8.10 am you will be landing at Chittagong, start driving for Rangamati this journey 102 kilometers by road is almost 4hour long driving distance.  Enjoy boat ride at Kaptai Lake for the rest of the day before sunset. This cruise is the most fascinating boat cruise in Kaptai Lake with its splendid setting of lush landscape and scenic majesty.  Visit some tribal handicraft markets in the evening. Overnight at Rangamati (Parjatan Hotel)

 

Day-2: Transfer from Rangamati to Bandarban

Drive to Bandarban after breakfast. It’s a three and a half hour driving distance. Visit a small tribal museum on the way. After reaching Bandarban you will have many options to do activities for the rest of the day and depending on your interest Visit Golden Temple at Nilachal, and other popular tourist sites in Bandarban. Just keep in mind to reach Golden Temple, you have to climb a 60m / 200ft hill through paved stairs or After lunch visit the Bhomong King’s residence and the colorful native market at shailokup propat. One of the popular activities at Bandarban to have a small boat trip and walk through Bhom tribal village or visit Chimbuk hilltop (3800 feet high pick) by car to witness the spectacular sunset what you can do tomorrow also. Day-3: Full day activities at Bandarban: Tribal Villages and Sangu River

Yesterday after reaching at Bandarban you had a very small time to explore Bandarban deeply but today you will do the rest of the activities that you could not do yesterday due to the shortage of time. You may Visit villages of different tribes in the morning to see tribal lives. You also will be able to see how they hand-make their own cloths, and also you would have an option to buy some of those hand-make products if you like from small outlets directly run by the tribal people, which is indeed big support for them. If you missed the fascinating boat ride yesterday then do it today as the boat ride at beautiful Sangu river in the evening, which is the most beautiful river in Bangladesh coming from India directly. Day-4: Transfer from Bandarban to Chittagong, Tour at ship-breaking yard tour and back to Dhaka in the evening.

After breakfast start the day a bit early in the morning and drive toward Chittagong Ship Breaking Yards and it will take 4 hours to come there distance 103 kilometers. You will visit ship breaking activities with a boat from the river for a couple of hours depending on the tide timetable of the day. This is the last resting place for the gigantic commercial end life vessels brought from all over the world, which are transformed into pieces of steel in this location which has already got a lot of attention to the nation and international community for numerous issues. Nearby there are shops of marine type materials coming from those old ships, which is a good place to collect souvenirs. After visiting the Chittagong shipbreaking yard you will be taken to the Chittagong airport which takes one and a half hours deepening on the traffic. We will be trying to take to visit Commonwealth World War – II Cemetery en route at Chittagong if our flight from CGP-DAC permits us. Take the flight and arrive at Dhaka around evening, transfer to hotel or residence, say goodbye with good memory and End of the Tour.

Good to know

Local transport inside the Hill-Tracts area will be by three wheeler CNG (tuk-tuk). All the long-distance transfers, however, will be done by air-conditioned private vehicle.

Booking this tour at least three weeks in advance is advised as we need take the permission form the concern authority for the access to the hill track region. 

A bit physical fitness required for this tour if you are really enthusiastic to cover all the activity in the itinerary, as the Chittagong Hill-Tracts area is hilly region and some walks are there in the tour. You may avoid those if you want.

October – March are generally remain cool and comfortable, and less humid and thus this mentioned period is the best for travel to that region.
